Building Eyecon Optometry has truly been a dream come true, allowing me to provide top-quality vision care to the San Fernando Valley, the place I call home. My passion for optometry started during my time at UCLA, where I volunteered for the Mobile Eye Clinic at UCLA's Jules Stein Eye Institute. The joy I witnessed on each child's face as they received their first pair of glasses was truly priceless, and that moment solidified my calling to help others see better.
After earning my Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2009, I knew I wanted to return to my roots and open a full-scope specialty eye clinic. Serving this community is something I hold near and dear to my heart, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to care for the people I genuinely care about.
One of my biggest passions in eye care is myopia control for children. Myopia is an epidemic that is increasing at an alarming rate. Fortunately, custom specialty contact lenses can change how a child develops myopia and allow a myopic child to see without glasses, daytime contact lenses or surgery. Treatment should not lead to surgery unless it is absolutely necessary. In addition to custom lenses, I always encourage children to spend more time outdoors and not be glued to tablets or digital devices. Over the past decade, I have successfully treated hundreds of patients with Orthokeratology lenses, including my own daughter, brother, brother-in-law, and my Associate Doctor who started her own career in eye care as my Ortho-K patient.
I am also passionate about giving back to the community and profession. I created a thriving pre-optometry college internship program with former interns graduating from top optometry schools such as SCCO, Berkeley, SUNY and many others. Successful college interns are also encouraged to gain practical hands-on work experience at Eyecon after completing their internship programs. Some of our past interns are now practicing doctors proudly serving their own respective communities. I also serve as an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor and Externship Site Director for SUNY College of Optometry, teaching fourth-year optometry students about primary eye care, myopia control and Orthokeratology while not so subtly encouraging them to join or open private practices of their own to better serve their local communities.
When I’m not working, I cherish every moment with my husband and our two wonderful daughters, Lana (11) and Lyla (8). Family means everything to me, and being family-oriented is at the heart of who I am. Together, we love spending time doing arts and crafts, enjoying outdoor picnics, and hiking around the scenic trails of Los Angeles.
I also have a deep passion for creating art, baking, and cooking Vietnamese cuisine, as well as exploring the world through travel. My creative side flourishes when I design for my very own line of eyewear—a project that brings me immense joy and inspiration.
I can’t wait to welcome you to Eyecon and share in your journey to better vision and eye health!
